Just a few ideas I've had for a few years. Include some of the combat forms introduced in the Halo Wars series (and more).A Flood mini boss that is supported by carrier and combat forms, and gets stronger by absorbing fallen Flood forms. This massive Flood form was part of the cut content from Halo 2. Like the Stealth and Infector Forms, it was cut from Halo 3's final game. Perhaps severely damaged combat forms could rapidly convert to a charging carrier form of some kind. This Flood form is similar to the Carrier Form, with the exception of transporting several (around a half-dozen) Flood Combat Forms into battle.Let damaged combat forms merge together into stronger combat forms, up to and including the Juggernaut.

A whip-arm could use classic Flood melee combat, while maybe a claw could use a quick rush with a slightly strong piercing hit, but with some kickback on the Flood form or a long cooldown on the ability.

Eons ago, the Forerunner race were at war with the Flood and created the Halo space installations as a last resort to kill all other life in the galaxy so that the Flood would starve to death. They are an ancient alien race of parasites capable of assimilating any other organic life-form and turning them into mindless zombies, and if left unchecked could consume all other sentient life in the universe. They are one of the two main antagonist groups of the original Halo trilogy, the other being the Covenant, serving as major antagonists in Halo: Combat Evolved, the secondary antagonists of Halo 2, and one of the main antagonists in Halo 3 alongside the Covenant Loyalists.

The Flood are the main antagonists of the Halo franchise. ~ Rtas Vadum explaining his decision to glass New Mombasa. One single Flood spore can destroy a species.
